First off I want to tell you guys about A&M Galveston. It has the same hard classes as A&M it is just a different branch. It is still part of the A&M college station system. So right now I have a 3.5 and if I'm lucky will around the same or 3.6. I want to get into a Biochemistry major. What do you guys think my chances are? Thanks.

Honestly the college you come from doesn’t mean anything. a 4.0 from Harvard is the same as a 4.0 from Hicktown Community College (which is a good or bad thing depending on your viewpoint). That said I’m pretty much the same as you (3.5 GPA and a 3.6 if I play my cards right). Don’t know about your specific major but I know for film a 3.6 is a pretty good shot (according to an advisor) and for undergraduate studies it’s a safe bet. I mention film because it’s one of the harder majors to get into.

Overall I’d say you have a pretty good shot. Just write good essays and you should be good. Of course I’m not a student so take my word with a grain of salt.

PMV, to be honest with you, no one cares how much A and M Galveston is like A and M College Station except for UT admissions.

Keep your GPA up and you should be fine.

Thanks guys. I don’t know why I even bothered explaining it.
