Hi,
I’m a current incoming sophomore at Cal interested in transferring to Yale or Duke. I’m interested in canine cognition/research, and there is none of that happening here. I know Yale and Duke don’t accept very many transfers, but I know what I want to do. My Berkeley GPA is 3.72 and current major is really unrelated. Any thoughts?
You will need to make a compelling case that what you want to do is not possible at Cal but will be possible at your transfer school. They don’t accept many transfers, but I wonder what the percentage of transfer applicants with compelling stories who get accepted is. I have the sense, purely gut feeling with no stats, that a good percentage of the applicants simply want to “trade up” and that those are quickly weeded out.
Good luck.
PS My dog can read my mind.
