I am in the transfer program and I wanted to know should I just wait to take a spanish class at USC or should I just take it at USC.My brother ( who is an alumni of USC ) thinks I should wait because it takes alot of time and effort to do and I should focus on other classes. What should I do ?

help please

Your question is a little difficult to understand. Do you mean you need to focus on other classes to get good grades for transfer, and taking Spanish could take too much time so it could hurt your GPA?

If that’s the case, then of course, you should focus on the classes that will get you the best grades for transfer, assuming you are taking the right classes you need for transfer.

sorry for the confusion , you explained it better then I did. Thanks for the help.

Would it affect me getting admitted if I didn’t take any ? or would it even matter if I plan to take it at there school.

If you do not think it will hurt you GPA, take it at CSULA. If you do not test out of Spanish, advisers will tell you should consider taking the course at a CC, if you still eligible to transfer units (if you transfer less than 64 total units). I was advised this because it is an impression that the Spanish at USC is a bit intense. Unfortunately, I do not have the luxury to take the Spanish courses at a CC because my transfer to USC maxed out my eligibility.

Well I am just not going to take spanish until I get to USC because my usc advisor said since I am transfering in one year I would have to re take the class any way since I have to do three semesters.
