Hey, well I'm going to be a sbcc student this fall but I was wondering if it was possible to transfer to ucsb after my first year, is it possible?

Not unless you have 60 CC units finished by the end of your first year - including any prereq classes. For UCSB it is probably your IGETC along with prereqs for your major. I’d ask this question on the UC sub-topic area for more specifics.

However, with the California budget crunch on, basically NO UCs or even CSUs are able to accept students with less than 60 Units of transferable classes (ie: remedial math or other non-transferable courses can not be counted toward the 60 Units). Don’t waste your money on transfer apps if you don’t have the basics done - your application will be denied.

There was 1 count it one sophomore transfer at my cALSO, i have no idea how they did it though. So it seems to me as though it certainly is POSSIBLE but not probable.

I’d use the search function and see if anything pops up, if not, you might have to do some research on your own. If you find anything let us know.
