Transfer From CLAS to VSB Before Freshman Year (Help Please)

After going to Candidates day on the 22nd I realized for a multitude of reasons that I no longer wanted to major in math at CLAS but instead wanted to major in Finance at VSB. I have researched how to go about this as much as I could and I have heard it is highly recommended to attempt to transfer before the start of your freshman year. Any advice on who to email or call and how to go about this and give me my best odds of success would be greatly appreciated. I am aware it is considered very difficult to transfer from CLAS to VSB but I am determined to do so and I by no means enrolled in CLAS with the sole intent of transferring to VSB. I only had this revelation two days ago when I saw how great the business school was and concluded I’d fit much better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

CC @villanovafangirl any insight would be much appreciated

@incomingnovacat congratulations on your acceptance! Not sure that will be possible given the difficulty of getting into VSB. If you are super over qualified it may be an option. When my S inquired about doing this last year he was told there was nothing they could do. He needed to apply for an internal transfer in the spring of this year. If you get great grades it will be possible to do. There are always people who will leave VSB for a variety of reasons so I’m sure spots will free up. After doing much research and talking with a variety of recruiters on campus my S has decided to stay in CLAS and major in math, minor in com sci and get a business minor in the summer. Believe it or not many companies find value in with liberal arts degree. A few recruiters even told him everybody is a finace major and they want more liberal arts majors. Honestly, can not go wrong with a math degree. But, if you really want to be in VSB, contact the dean maybe. Express your interest. The admissions department is out of the loop once you have been accepted. Welcome to Nova nation!
