I am currently at the College of Charleston and looking to transfer the South Carolina for next fall. I am not that happy here, it’s not what I expected. There’s a long list of other reasons. In a nutshell, it isn’t what I thought it would be and I don’t think it’s the right place for me.
I’m in a somewhat weird situation because I was accepted into USC’s bridge program- Gamecock Gateway. Would that put me at an advantage/disadvantage when it comes to transferring? Also, what is a timeline for when everything needs to be submitted (app, essay, transcript, etc)?
Have you looked at all tabs on website that reference transfers? http://www.sc.edu/about/offices_and_divisions/undergraduate_admissions/requirements/for_transfers/index.php
This will give you information. If you have less than 45 hours you also have to provide HS transcript. There are also GPA requirements based on intended major. You can also look up CofC on the list and see what classes transfer. Check to see what your major requires. I would try and visit an admissions counselor at USC to discuss specifics. The fact that you were admitted to Gateway as opposed to regular admissions might mean that your grades this year might be really important to show you can do the work. The only way to know for sure is to ask.
