I've just finished my first quarter at Dartmouth ('08), and this school is not what I expected it to be academics-wise and well the environment is completely rural. I'm looking for a school that is more pre-med driven and Duke seems to be that way. I've also heard transfer applicants have a harder time getting into elite colleges, 70/409 for Duke, and I'm worried.

Currently, I'm majoring in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and minoring in Neuroscience.

Current Dartmouth GPA: 3.56
High School GPA: 4.59 and 8% of class

SATs: 1460 740 verbal 720 math ( the admissions at Duke told me not to retake them) and they don't look at SAT IIs for transfer

APs: AP Bio 5, AP Psych 4, AP English Lang 4, AP Eng Lit 4, but I took other AP classes, but just didn't take the test. I also took AP US History, AP Chem and others. I went to a Governor's School, so most of our classes were APs.

I've done research and have had my paper published in the American Heart Ass. Journal of Med circa Jan 2004.
