Transfer from Dartmouth to Duke?

I've just finished my first quarter at Dartmouth ('08), and this school is not what I expected it to be academics-wise and well the environment is completely rural. I'm looking for a school that is more pre-med driven and Duke seems to be that way. I've also heard transfer applicants have a harder time getting into elite colleges, 70/409 for Duke, and I'm worried.

Currently, I'm majoring in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and minoring in Neuroscience.

Current Dartmouth GPA: 3.56
High School GPA: 4.59 and 8% of class

SATs: 1460 740 verbal 720 math ( the admissions at Duke told me not to retake them) and they don't look at SAT IIs for transfer

APs: AP Bio 5, AP Psych 4, AP English Lang 4, AP Eng Lit 4, but I took other AP classes, but just didn't take the test. I also took AP US History, AP Chem and others. I went to a Governor's School, so most of our classes were APs.

I've done research and have had my paper published in the American Heart Ass. Journal of Med circa Jan 2004.

Just wondering, since I'm looking for an admission letter from Dartmouth...

What were your SATII scores?

not great. dartmouth uses that for placement mostly. hmm lets me see if I can round u up some figures:

bio-670
writing-640
history-610

dont worry too much. youll be fine. where are you from? thats plays a pretty big role.

what didn't you like about dartmouth?

Just wondering, since I'm looking for an admission letter from Dartmouth...

What were your SATII scores?

weather..there's a foot of snow outside my window now. its really small and secluded..very rural. I like the suburbs. if you don't like nature. dont come here. the people are great tho, and thats makes a big difference, but the environment sucks. Humanities are great..sciences are ok..and thats what im looking into.

so do you think I have a chance at transferring?

I think you will get in as a transfer student. With those grades and coming from DArtmouth? Don't worry.

thanks. did your son/daughter end up going there?
