I know you guys probably hate hearing this type of question, and I hate asking it, but here it is anyway.

I'm a freshman at Fordham University- Rose Hill. I wasn't satisfied with my first semester, and after a week and a half of my second semester, I've decided to transfer. I won't bore you with all of the reasons I was miserable. I might be happier somewhere else, maybe I won't. So, for those who are willing to entertain this silly question:

What are my chances for these schools?

Bowdoin
UNC
Colgate
Colorado College
Kenyon College
Middlebury
Rice
UVA
U-Chicago

-High School-
Pretty terrible, I was a huge bum 3.0 GPA
SAT: 730 R 710 M 660 W
Fencing Team Captain. Fencer 4 years

Work at a Law Firm over a summer as a JR. Paralegal

-College-

Some of this might seem silly, but I would be extremely grateful if you would entertain my whims.

Depends upon several factors not contained in your post. Do you need financial aid? First college semester GPA? Why do you want to leave Fordham, and why do you wish to attend each school to which you are applying as a transfer student? Are you a state resident for either U. of Virginia or UNC ?

I would need Financial Aid, but depending on the school, I may be willing to go without it. First semester was a 3.5 GPA. I’ve been plain miserable at Fordham. Maybe it’s because I commute, maybe it’s because half the school commutes. I don’t have many friends that I like here, and believe me I’ve tried. I came into Fordham full of energy, hope, and blind idealism. I tried to befriend everyone I met. I joined tons of clubs, and I even made one. After a month or so, it became apparent to me that I was trying to experience something very different from what was bring offered here. The campus is dead. There’s no spirit. The cultural club I participate in has whittled down to a dozen members, while we comprise 10 percent of the school’s population.

My reasons might seem childish, and perhaps they are. You wouldn’t be the first one to tell me that it’s “just you, not the school.” But, at this point I want to keep my options open.

The schools I’ve listed are either picked from the list of schools with the happiest students, recommended by friends or family, or schools I believe would be a good fit for me.

Sorry if my posts are vague. I’m very tired.
