Transfer from Georgetown-Chances? Suggestions?

Hi, I'm a current Georgetown freshman looking to transfer this fall. I chose Georgetown based on the program for my major (linguistics) but realize the school just isn't for me. The problem is that linguistics is a specific major, and I am 100% committed to it, leaving few options. I want to stay in the Northeast. Here are the schools I am applying to so far:

Boston University--will try for honors program
Brandeis University (accepted last year)
Harvard (waitlisted last year)
Brown University

HS Stats:
GPA-4.3 weighted, around 4.0 unweighted (3.9something); Class Rank- 3 of 250-ish
SATs- 2210/2400 or 1530/1600; SAT IIs- 780 US History, 790 Math II, 720 U.S. History
APs- 5s in US History, Calculus AB, Human Geo, US Gov; 4s in Econ (micro) and English Lit.
ECs- Math Team, NHS, French Club, summer job, college course taken during HS, etc. (nothing too special); Some awards
College Stats:
GPA-3.92 after first semester
Classes- Only one intro-level class first semester, but I also have a W in a class(will explain)
ECs-Tutoring, leadership position in College Democrats

So...what do you think? Do I have any chance at a school of a similar caliber to Georgetown or better with a W on my transcript? Are there any other colleges with linguistics programs that would be at about my level? Thanks!

“Are there any other colleges with linguistics programs that would be at about my level?”

If you have run the college-matching search engines for that major and that part of the country, and you have only come up with four more names, well then that probably is it. If you are willing to modify your notion of “my level” or the part of the country or linguistics as a major rather than a concentration within Anthropology/Psychology/Foreign Language/etc. you may find more options that could work for you.

Because I don’t know what it is about Georgetown that you do no,t like I cannot comment with regard to “fit.” But as far as north east schools for linguistics at the same level as Georgetown, I would Cornell and Swarthmore.
