transfer from Michigan

I am currently enrolled in University of Michigan Ann Arbor College of Engineering, this is my second year.

I am considering transferring to UCB, UCLA, and/or UCSD.

Unfortunately my GPA is 3.17 as of now, and I feel the highest I can get it up to this semester is 3.27

I took Calc 2,3,4 (AP credit for 1) Gen Chem, Physics 1 & 2, Biology, Engineering Programming Class, A writing class for engineers that is equivalent to intro english, an upper level theoretical math class, two history classes, and first year chinese language course.

Is it realistic for me to apply?

The chances might be pretty slim considering the average transfer GPA is around 3.62 and you are an out of state student. But Michigan is a hell of a school and I am sure the social scene is just as good out there as it is at UCLA.

You should apply anyway. But keep in mind those schools will want a very good excuse for transferring from a top 3 public institution like Michigan. Also, you’ll need to balance your GPA with some good college EC’s or work experience or something.
