So I was accepted into NYU Stern and Berkeley and, personally, I don't really like these colleges but they're all I have at this moment. So far I'm leaning to NYU.

Before I continue, let me just explain that both schools are wonderful. NYU Stern is a top business school in the nation (i don't care if it's not THE best as long as its competitive) with lots of opportunities for people interested in business... although I'm hearing Stern is known more for finance which I am not interested in. Berkeley also is another wonderful school that I believe far outranks NYU as a whole although I hear Haas and Stern are on par with each other.

So education wise, I don't mind going there.

But for NYU, I love the city, hate the campus. For Berkeley, I loooove the architecture (so greek and roman) but haaaaatte the surrounding city. Plus, it's in California. I live in Cali right now but I used to live in the East Coast too and I loved it there and would love to go back.

There are of course many other reasons why I prefer not going to these schools, but city and campus life is one of the top, and it's a huge factor in my decision since I will be living there for the next number of years.

So from whatever college I will be attending, I would like to transfer in one or two years (depending on successful I am, if I am) to Stanford, UChicago, Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Brown, and Cornell. Stanford, although it's in Cali, I looove it's campus and its surroundings. And to me, has no disadvantages that I have for Berkeley.

I know that transfer to Ivy League is incredibly difficult, and that Ivy League is expensive. That is why transfer is only an option right now and will continue to be as I decide how much I like the college I will attend.

So, will there be a benefit from going to a particular college that would help make the transfer more... feasible?

Also, does anyone know which of the colleges have a better chance of admitting transfer students?

Thank you!
