Transfer from one US school to other (International student)

Hello,

I am an international student currently doing my grad studies in Electrical Engineering at Auburn University. I am looking to apply and get transfered to a better school.

below is my profile

BSc in Electrical Engineering (CGPA = 3.52/4)
Research papers = 5 papers in IEEE conferences + 2 journal Papers (submitted)
Two years teaching + research experience + internship in Malaysia (5 months)
IELTS =7
GRE (worst part) = 960 (verbal = 270, quant = 690 and analytical writing 3)

Research Interests: Robotics, embedded systems and Image processing.

Questions:

I need suggestions on where to apply with possible admission + funding ( with my profile). I heard that I can transfer my credits to other schools. Is it possible after first or second semester? Is it possible for me (being already in USA) to apply for Spring 2012.

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Very few graduate programs accept students in spring semester, and almost none offer funding for mid-year admissions.

Much of your coursework and program may be different - transferring graduate classes is much different than undergraduate.

Also, you didn’t list your graduate GPA. Or have you not even started at Auburn yet? If that’s the case, you should just not enroll and try again next year.

Why do you want to transfer before you have even started? Why do you think you’d get in somewhere “better” with nothing better on your application? Bailing out after one year is going to be a hard sell to other programs.

That is an abysmally bad GRE score for an Engineer. You need to improve on that.
