I’m looking to transfer into the economics program in the CLAS. I’m a Florida resident but I’m currently at University of Alabama. I applied the first week of January and my status was just changed to being reviewed by CLAS. My stats are
GPA: 3.45, will probably be 3.6 after this semester, but that’s what I applied with.
Will have 72 credits by first semester at UF, taking statistics this semester, my only required class left
Honors College
Two honors societies
International internship lined up for this summer
Are decisions given on a rolling basis? Are they rolling after the deadline? How soon is the average wait time once sent to clas for decisions, and what do you think my chances are?
CLAS makes decisions on a rolling basis so you should find out in a few weeks. Your changes are good if you meet their admission requirements which you can find here http://www.advising.ufl.edu/admissions/transfer-admissions/
I looked at that site and my stats put me above what’s considered “competitive”, however, it just doesn’t seem right that a 3.0 is considered competitive at UF. Rather, likely the minimum for an application to really be taken seriously. Does anybody know the average gpa for clas admits?
The GPA is very much dependent on the major/space available in that major. If you are above the 3.0 and have the prerequisites then your admission chances are good.
I got in to CLAS- Econ with a 3.48 and 3.75 pre-professional.
Update- Got accepted today! Status changed around 9PM EST. I’m a Gator!!!
