Alright guys so I was originally rejected straight up from UIUC as a freshman and accepted into Purdue exploratory studies. As of right now I am on track to transfer into First Year Engineering by next semester and believe I can end the semester with a 3.6-8 gpa and at the end of the semester I will be a sophomore in standing and by the end of the year I will be a Junior. I really want to transfer to to UIUC as I am from Illinois and I originally wanted to go in as a computer science major or computer engineering. While Purdue has a great program for computer science and computer engineering there are things like cost of college and stuff like that, that would be better at UIUC. I probably should’ve have tried harder in high school but what is done is done and I’m trying to pull my poop back together.
I’m currently in:
MA261(MA241 at UIUC)
CHEM115(CHEM102-103?)
CS180(Java programming)
ENGR131(Introductory engineering class idk what the equivalent is)
EDPS105(Required Exploratory studies class)
Scores:
ACT:31
High School GPA: 3.3(This won’t matter with a sophomore or junior standing right?)
College GPA:Hopefully 3.6-8 like I said before.
So my question is. What do I look like as transfer student if I apply for next fall and what is going to be taken into consideration on my application. Like standing after first semester or the year, which gpa(s), does it matter that Purdue has hard classes apparently? Also, what major should I apply as? Would I have better chances as an electrical engineer, computer, computer science and math, etc?
