So..I haven't received my UC Berkeley decision yet. I'm getting it tomorrow and boy am I nervous!

I'm still a high school student. If I don't get in to Berkeley, I was thinking of going to SFSU first, then transferring after a year. When it comes to going through community college first, for some reason my parents would hate it if I went to community college in the first place. Knowing that going to a ccc increases my transfer to a uc, i'm still considering that an option too. But, most likely i'm definitely going to pick going to the csu over the ccc.

Do you think it's possible to transfer from a csu to a uc after a year/ 2 years? How hard do you think this is going to be?

While it’s been 30 years since I graduated from Cal, here is what UC Berkeley currently states on its website:

“While we give California community college students first priority over other transfer applicants, we also accept those from four-year institutions. In addition, it’s possible to transfer from one UC campus to another.”

Good luck!

Thanks^^^

Is there anymore opinions from you guys? :O

It’s definitely better to go to a CC if you know for sure you want to transfer to a UC. It’s extremely difficult to transfer in from SFSU because UCs are basically set up to accept transfers from CCs and from what I understand have some sort of agreement with CCs. Also, there’s the problem with transferring units from states to UCs…

I transferred from a Cal State to Berkeley years ago. One factor I would say worked in my favor was the Cal State I attended didn’t offer my major. All my courses transferred easily since both were on semester systems.

Definitely easier to go the CC to UC route.
