I've been browsing around the forms and I didn't see anything like this yet, but if there is one, I would like a link to it. I'm planning to transfer out of a UC to a CSU because of financial issues. I am an incoming freshmen, but is thinking of transferring out for my sophomore year to a CSU. Is this possible? And how will I apply?

Well, you should probably leave the UC you’re at and attend a community college to transfer in as a junior.

They don’t accept that many sophomore transfers. They mostly accept juniors.

I agree with CalDud… but maybe you should call the CSU first to see if there are exceptions.

The chances of getting in as a sophomore transfer is very low especially because of the budget cuts right now. If you’re considered at all you’ll be put behind the freshmen and upper division transfer applicants. I talked to Pomona, etc and they don’t even consider lower division transfers unless you have a very special reason that exempts you from the regulation. Take caldud’s advice and just take a year at a CC to get enough credits to transfer as an upper division, you’ll save money that way as well!
