I've attended UCSC for two years and am on academic leave for mental health reasons. I'm in relatively good standing; I have a 3.05 GPA, which isn't horrible per se, but it could have been better if my bipolar disorder had been diagnosed earlier. Anyway, my parents are urging me to transfer to SF State so I can be closer to home/ save them money in the process. It's getting to the point where I can't afford UCSC, which is sad because I really love it there.

I'm already aware that I have to take an oral communications course (a CSU IGETSE) at a CC to meet one of the transfer requirements.

My questions are- how difficult will it be to transfer my UC GEs to CSU? I'm not confident all my UC units will transfer to CSU, and I might not make the 90 transferable quarter units requirement.

Do any of you have experience transferring from a UC to a CSU?

And lastly, there's a lot of talk on these forums about UC being of better quality than CSU. Be that as it may, would I be sacrificing too much by transferring?
