I'm currently a Biochem major at UCSD, but have been accepted by UCLA and Cal as a transfer in the fall. I'm just curious as to what the housing situation is like? Is it even possible to find transfer housing on campus? Is it possible to find housing close enough to campus where I wouldn't have to drive?

hey, jw what are you stats? i might do the same. thanks. sorry i don't know about any of the above

Aren't transfers guaranteed on campus housing for at least one year?

I'm not a transfer student but, as far as I know, you can choose to stay in the on-campus housing with everyone else. Though, you may want to look into the university apartments. They're close enough to campus that you wouldn't need to drive and a lot cheeper than on-campus housing.

dyip10,

I think so but I'm not certain.

"Transfer students admitted for Fall Quarter 2006 are guaranteed one year of single-student university housing"

WOW... that's amazing. I suppose I have some more thinking to do.

ooohnelle, my gpa is 3.5 at the moment.

thanks! gl in transferring and whatnot. i personally don't think the housing situation should be a problem.. go where you'll be most happy! but of course do consider the costs, commuting, and environment

hmm... since the question has been answered... are transfers from one UC to another easy to do?
