Hello! I am currently entering my sophomore year at UM-Dearborn and am hoping to transfer to UM-Ann Arbor’s school of Kinesiology for the winter semester 2016. I have a 3.2 GPA and approximately 24 transferrable credits (36 after this fall). Last year I applied to LSA for this fall semester but did not get accepted, and I did not apply to AA out of high school because I only got a 1500 on my SAT. If anyone could give me some insight as to what my chances of being accepted are I would greatly appreciate it!
Hey!
I’m not sure if I can give u a good “chance opinion” but I can give u a comparable. I applied as a freshman 2014 to LSA with a 30 ACT and a 3.89 gpa and 12 AP classes good extra curriculars , essays etc in a competitive private high school…waitlisted and then rejected. Reapplied for this fall 2015 as a sophomore. Freshman fall 4.0 gpa with 16 credits and additional 17 credits for winter term ( also 4.0 but grades were not completed when they reviewed app.) Rejected. Taking a 4 credit class now. Everything should transfer except one class. I truly wish I knew how the admission process worked. Giving it a 3 rd time “a charm” hope for winter 2016. I do not know if it is easier for winter…or how many spots will be available in each school but from what I have reviewed on CC and talking to others it’s anyone’s guess for either of us at this point. I really wish u luck and we can both be where we want to be soon!
Thank you for your response! Unfortunately I have heard the same kind of story many times… I have heard kinesiology is much easier to get accepted into compared to LSA, hopefully this change will help me out. Best of luck to you as well, maybe I will run into you on campus!
