Transfer from UMass Amherst to Pitt?

<p>I am a first-year Computer Science student currently attending UMass. I would like to transfer out before next fall. My GPA should be a 3.25-3.5 this semester. I graduated with a 3.6 GPA in high school. My SATs were 660 Math, 650 Verbal, and 560 writing. I am extremely worried about my transfer prospects. I am looking into two schools closer to home; University of Pittsburgh-Oakland and Carnegie Mellon. I know my chances of getting into Carnegie Mellon are virtually nonexistent, but I am still going to apply. Pitt, on the other hand, is really scaring me. I know that I cannot stay at UMass because I am miserable. I'm worried I won't get into Pitt. If I do get into Pitt, I am worried that the program will not be up to par with the one at UMass. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?</p>
