Why do you want to transfer to Berkeley?

Transfer admission at the UCs is primarily focused on students from California Community colleges. Well over 90% of transfers come from a CCC.

From Cal’s website:
“The Haas Undergraduate Program rarely admits transfer students from 4-year institutions. Transfer admissions priority is given to students who are US citizens, California residents, and are transferring from a California community college. This is according to California’s Master Plan for Higher Education, the University of California Office of the President and the UC Berkeley faculty. Transfer applicants from 4-year colleges should follow the transfer admission requirements and application procedures outlined on our website.”

Okay maybe I’ll just apply to UC Berkeley as an economics and computer science major then… better chances

Why do you want to transfer to Berkeley?

Since you are apparently a New York resident, it is not like either Michigan or Berkeley will be inexpensive.

I just don’t like being at Michigan that much, but does it really matter why I deep down want to transfer?

And you could say that I might not like it at UCB either, but I guess I’ll never know until I get there (if I am ever lucky enough to do so)
