Transfer from UMich to NYU/Oberlin/Others?

Hey guys;
I'm a freshmen at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I recognize that this is a great school, but I am feeling really down, and I just don't think it's the place for me after spending a couple of months here.

My grades are actually fairly low here due to my severe lack of motivation because I'm so unhappy. I'm taking gen-eds while I plan to major in music. I am taking a full 16 credit hour load, with English (an A or so), Calculus (a B- or so), Intro to American Government (a B- or so), and French (a C or so).

My SAT when I applied to be a freshman was a 1410.

I used to do many things... don't know if they're relevent now coming from a college setting. Drum major of high school marching band, vice president of theater, big computer repair person, a month of environmental conservation work, sang with a choral group that toured around Paris (and sang in Notre Dame cathedral) and much more, all because I enjoyed it very much.

In any case, I look at schools where I didn't apply or didn't get off the waitlist: Oberlin (didn't apply), NYU (waitlisted), Washington University in St. Louis (waitlisted). All very different universities, but all appeal to me in ways that UMich is lacking.

My questions are as follows:
1) Any immediate thoughts about my chances of transferring to any of these for fall semester?
2) Does coming from UMich give me any better a chance with such slim transfer rates as say, someone coming from Ernie's College-o-Rama?
3) How can I find the transfer acceptance rates for schools like these?
4) Any recommendations about what I should do about my situation?

Piano, I can only really answer question 3. You can get the transfer acceptance rates off US News, and theres been like a hundred schools' transfer acceptance rates on a thread somewhere in this topic. If you can't find them, post another message and I'll post those stats for you.

But I have a question for you as well. Would you mind sharing what you don't enjoy at Michigan? It is one of the schools I am applying to for transferring next fall, so I would just like to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
