Our daughter applied to architecture programs at NCSU and UNCC. She didn’t get into the architecture program at NCSU and deferred for her 2nd choice (exploratory studies), then was waitlisted. She was accepted to UNCC and to the architecture program. What is the likelihood of her being accepted as a transfer student into NCSU into the architecture program after completing a year at UNCC? We are hoping she will be happy at UNCC, which has an excellent architecture program, as well.
I was told from someone in the program what they would make you go back and take the Studio classes beginning as a Freshman as a transfer student.
I can’t answer to these particular schools, but my kiddo transferred architecture programs between two schools; and it was hard. good, but hard. here’s what i wrote a few weeks back: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/22253195#Comment_22253195
i’d have a thorough conversation with NCSU about how they take in transfer students; if they do. I wouldn’t expect a straight transfer; but rather taking over the beginning classes.
