Hi. Im an international student at UofT. Im a sophomore and I want to transfer to McGill. Im doing a double major of Literature and History, but Ive not been satisfied with the curriculums here. As Ive never been to McGill, I dont know exactly what it is like at McGill. Does anyone have any advice for me? Do you think its difficult to transfer from UofT to McGill?

anyone?? any advice is welcome!

this is collegeconfidential.com
Most people on this board are transfering to US schools
I am from UofT though :D Hiya there. UofT does has it's lows, however i think the curriculum is terrific, well at least for science students. Although the class sizes does make you wonder whether you are learning from the professors.
If you don't know what it's like at McGill, then why transfer? I dislike Quebec in general, maybe it's because i don't speak french, but from what i have seen over the years, UofT>>>McGill anyday :)
best of luck

LOL!! UofT > McGill = priceless!

Montreal is a wonderful city. McGill is right in the middle of it. I've "passed by," but not really visited. Not sure how much of a campus it does or doesn't have. It was my S' second choice for transfer; one thing he didn't care for is that there is basically no on-campus housing beyond freshman year.

It has a great reputation and is very cost-effective compared to many US schools of similar calibre.

It is a "by the numbers" app - no essays, no recs.

Mojo,

As far as Canadians go, U of T is more prestigious, though it is very much a Harvard/Yale situation. And, no, I have no affiliation with either institution.

"If you don't know what it's like at McGill, then why transfer?"

Because I heard that McGill is better if one is social science major. Once I entered here, I recognized that UofT is good for science but not for humanities etc. I got lots of information that McGill has better curriculums in what I'm majoring.
I got impression that a lot of people could get into UofT because of the largest enrolment but McGill seems more selective.

Now hear me: UofT>>>McGill in everything :D

Here's my take on it: Queen's << McGill < UofT <<<<<< Waterloo.

^that's an offensive post!
the correct order is:
Waterloo<McGill<Queen's~<UofT
Waterloo is on a farm!

Waterloo is actually very good for science.

For me, it's easy to stay here than to transfer, and if you guys say UofT>McGill, I may change my mind, though I'm gonna search more.
Anyway, thanks!

ok, ok, I may have exaggerated a bit. For my major (math/cs), however, Waterloo is definitely better than McGill and Queen's, and is arguably superior to UofT as well.

UofT math is one of the best out there, it even trumps some ivies's (except for MIT, harvard, Princeton)
