Transfer from UT BHP to Wharton

Hey, I am a student at UT Austin. I am in the business honors program at McCombs School of Business. Recently, I thought about transferring to Wharton at U Penn. The following is a snap shot of my resume' and please share with me some information regarding the transfer.

Texas BHP
GPA: 3.8
Various organization involvements
Various work experiences
SAT/TOEFL - need to re-take

I know it's very competitive. But, do you think if I score high on SAT (2100 or over), I have a shot?

Please indicate if you know well about Texas BHP or not. Oh, and please tell me if it's a worthy choice to forgo BHP and transfer!

Don’t know much about Texas BHP but I don’t think your chances are too high. Not a reflection on you so much as Wharton accepts very few external transfers. Its already hard enough to get in as an internal transfer.

Why do you want to transfer to wharton? is it carreer ? better pay? more reputation?
better network? ( in your view )

thanks

If you are in McCombs Honors there is no good reason to transfer to Wharton for undergrad. Chances of admission are slim and there is simply no real advantage-especially if you are from Texas.

MomofWildChild: If he graduated from Wharton, he would have substantially more career opportunities in the Philly/New York area… but, like you said, if he intends to stay and work in Texas then your advice is probably on the money.

if you want work in texas, i suggest BHP, wharton is great if you want to work in the north. personally, id just stay in BHP all 4 undergrad years and look at wharton for grad school since it’s so hard to transfer in. it’s possible, but i think your chances are better at UT.
