Transfer from WFU

I am a freshman at Wake Forest. I want to transfer to a bigger school with better surroundings and more social options. So far I have been recommended Georgetown, Vanderbilt, and USC. What are some other similar schools?

Do I have a good chance at getting into these schools?

HS GPA: 3.86/4.03
ACT: 31
16 AP Credits
First semester GPA w/ 17 credits: 3.75
taking 16 credits this semester
lots of extracurriculars from high school, not too many in college

help me out? thanks

Emory, Rice, Washington University St. Louis, Northwestern, and Cornell’s college of Arts and Sciences are some places that usually get tossed around with them. You’d have a decent shot at any of those.

Have you been able to get a great time with socialization yet despite the number of people in the school?

There aren’t that many additional undergrads at WUSTL (±6000) compared to WFU (±4400), and Cornell isn’t in much of a lively environment, otherwise I totally agree with tsakashvili.

You might also consider University of Chicago (on the smaller side still, but in a big city), University of Washington, and Boston College.

What’s your major?

There are some things to do here, but the social scene is largely limited to Greek parties in run down basements. There are not very many opportunities for internship or employment in Winston-Salem. I want to go somewhere in a better location.

I haven’t declared a major yet but I am leaning towards business or economics.
