Transfer GPA Doesn't Matter?

I'm a CAP student, and I heard that your transfer GPA doesn't matter for anything. When you come to UT, everything will be refreshed. Is that true? I feel like I worked for a high GPA for no reason, and next semester I can do just enough to just get into UT. Nothing more -_____-

And I'm gonna either try to get a MPA or major in Economics.. if that helps anything. :(

“CAP students are guaranteed admission to UT Austin for their sophomore year if they earn 30 hours of transferable coursework and achieve at least a 3.2 GPA. All 30 hours must be earned during the regular fall or spring semesters.”

Your transfer GPA would matter I would think. Your GPA at any institution you transfer will be refreshed. You only get select credits from the courses you’ve taken.

The higher your GPA, the higher the chance you can get into Economics or any choice you want.

Good luck!

I’m automatically accepted into Economics if I have a 3.2. Doesn’t matter as long as it is higher then 3.2. I know for Accounting the higher the GPA the better, but if I exclude Accounting from the equation… it seems like GPA isn’t a big deal for Liberal Arts. >_<

-cries-

I guess I’ll just strive for the best and try to get into Accounting… so I feel like I didn’t waste my time ._.

3.2 gets you into everything except business, engineering, and communications. But since you’re going for cola you shouldn’t have to worry too much.
