Transfer GPA

I am thinknig of transferring to Steinhardt and I have a little over a 3.6 from Tulane Univ. Do you think this is sufficient?

We need more information..what's your race? high school record? SAT/ACT scores, extracuricular activities/sports etc...

A 3.6 on its own is pretty light, like everyone always says, NYU Adcom has thier own reasons for rejecting or accepting people but if all I had to go on was your GPA, I would say your chances are iffy at best..a good chunk of people who get accepted as transfers, get in with 3.7-4.0 GPAs.

Oh...hahahah woops...they updated it (randomly?@@) it's now a 3.82 haha.

SAT = 1860 (570R/600M/690W)
GPA: 3.73UW/3.99W

Extracurrics:

*Apprenticeship w/pittsburgh opera
*GLSEN (only high school board member in pittsburgh)
* National honors society
* Jr. Mendelssohn Choir
* Jazz choir
* Orchestra Volunteer
* Brown Univ. summer course

There are more just can't think of much haha.

I am going for vocal performance IDK if it's easier at all to get in academically?

Well, Your GPA is good, Test scores are a bit low... It's tough to say how hard its is to get into this program at Steinhardt, I'm sure they have much less apps than Tisch, Stern or CAS so it may be easier in that sense but then again, the smaller poool of applicants may still have superior academic records.

My feeling is that your audition will be KEY because I don't see anything about your record that screams "NO CHANCE"... If you kick ass in your audition, I would think your chances are pretty decent. Again, without knowing the academic records of the average applicant to this program but you never know how strong or weak the applicant pool is at ANY school you apply to anyway, even when you know what the past average has been, you may be running into competition that is weaker or stronger than past trends.

So go ahead and apply, you'll never reallly know how good your chances are in this case...don't screw up your audition is the best advice anyone can give you.
