Transfer Help Needed!

Hi,
A friend of mine is considering transferring to UC Davis from a private four-year university for the fall of 2010.
She’s currently a declared engineering major, but her GPA is a little low because she got a D+ in one of her math classes freshman year (last year). However, this year, she’s already in the process of retaking the course, which will erase the old grade and replace it with a new grade, bringing her cumulative GPA up from a 3.11 to a 3.35. Does she have a chance of getting into Davis with a 3.35? And what should she say on her application, explaining the course she’s retaking? Also, is there a way for her to send in her first semester grades so that the office of admissions can see her new math grade, as well as her first semester grades (which will most likely increase her GPA more)?

Any help would be great, thanks :)

BUMP! I need answers please!

UCD college of engineering is very strict about grades below a C. But since she is retaking it, that might change things a little.
I’ve heard that in UCD engr, you are only allowed to take 3 classes again. After that, you are out.
