Transfer HELP PLEASE!!!

Ok guys. I'm an international student from India currently studying at Virginia Tech.

My major is civil engineering and I'm currently a freshman.

I am thinking of transferring to UT maybe next year or the year after that as it's a much better school for civil engineering.
I would like your inputs as to how good/bad it really is compared to Virginia Tech?

My freshman GPA for my first semester will be around 3.3 but this is due to the new type of education system for me. I am sure I would have an overall GPA of 3.4-3.5 by the time I apply to UT. Is this good enough for UT? I got a 2000 in my SAT's. Math - 740, Writing - 660, Reading - 600.

Thanks guys :)

My suggestion is for you to think carefully about why you want to transfer. The reason you give is not a very strong one. Certainly not worth the potential delay in graduation that it might cause.

The Virginia Tech program is ABET accredited and therefore will be recognized by employers as well as UT’s program. Go to the placement office and see how well VT graduates do in getting the kinds of jobs you are interested in. That might help you make a better decision.

Cheers
