Transfer help to UCLA

Hi,

I am currently attending RCC and am majoring in biochemistry. UCLA is one of the colleges that i am aiming for, but realized recently that RCC does not offer classes that can satisfy prereqs for the LIFESCI 3 and LIFESCI 4 areas.

Even if i am able to maintain a strong GPA will i still be able to remain competitive or will i have to find other colleges that offer classes that can satisfy those requirements?

Thanks in advance

If your college doesnt offer it, UCLA will not hold it against you.

It’s prefer that you take it at other schools but that doesn’t mean you have to drive 40 minutes to a school everyday just to take one class.

you can always look and see if another college offers the class online, i know my cc has so many classes online and i’m taking a winter class online at canyons. here are links to the colleges

[Moorpark College/url

and

[url=http://www.canyons.edu]College of the Canyons](http://www.moorparkcollege.edu)

:-)

but do note, that whenever you take an online class, you have to attend a few class meetings to take tests and etc (or at least that is how most cc’s have it).

no, not at mine, i took a whole semester online and never had to be on campus once

sweetnezz, you still have to enroll yourself at the campus which requires you to be there in person.

nope sorry, the application is completely online and you enroll in all of your classes online, no in person meetings required.

I agree with Sweetnezz. I have enrolled myself online into the college and into the courses with never going to campus .

Depends on how high tech your CC is.

However, no CC is going to offer those two BIOLOGY courses online

What are the pre-req’s?

I know that Moorpark College had an Intro. to Biology online this Fall.

Principles of Biology was offered online at Ventura College this semester.

and

Concepts of Evolution at COC

Those are the last two bio courses both requiring a lab. you cant do lab online

I guess if the CC splits the lab as an additional course it might happen, but none of my CCs ever did that.

At my cc, labs are always seperate from the regular class. I actually took Anthropology lab online last semester.
