Hi everyone!

I'm going to be a third-year transfer student at Emory next year. Can someone give me an idea on the different housing options and the pros and cons of each? Much appreciated!

Hi everyone!

I'm going to be a third-year transfer student at Emory next year. Can someone give me an idea on the different housing options and the pros and cons of each? Much appreciated!

For example: Is Clairmont far from main campus and is it worth is to live there?

Clairmont is semi-far from campus but there is a convenient shuttle that goes to and from campus all day. In my opinion it is not worth living there since a lot of the off campus apartments are just as far, nicer, and cheaper/about the same price as Clairmont.

Tons of apartments near campus that house a lot of students. Highland Lake/Clairmont Reserve/Gables Montclair are all right near Clairmont so you can use that shuttle if you don’t have a car.

Emory Point is a nice new one close to campus with a lot of restaurants. Shuttle to and from campus but also a short walk.

Gables Rock Springs and Highland Square are on the other side of campus and pretty close.

It’s also important to note that the Clairmont shuttles on the weekend suck. If you feel that you are more introverted and would have trouble meeting people, maybe try Clairmont. Otherwise, I’d go for a cheaper, nicer apartment.
