<p>i went on the website to see what the requirements were to get accepted. i ended up on the housing page, so for fun i decided to look at the housing. i came across the transfer housing and it said that i would have to live off campus. why it that? why cant i live on campus with everyone else? and if i can how do i know which housing to chose since I'm not a freshman? </p>

<p>Housing at USC is very tight right now as they have accepted larger freshman classes and as they take dorms off to renovate. More dorms are in the future, but at the present only a fairly small percentage of sophomores get housing on campus so most move off campus. There is an off campus student housing office that offers information about finding housing. I think there is a place to sign up to see openings, roommates etc but you have to be a current/accepted student and have a USC ID to sign in.</p>
<p>I would call the housing office. They may be able to give the odds of a transfer student getting a housing slot, if you are patient and wiling to wait until after the in-coming freshmen are set. Also look into the several “dorm-like” student apartment complexes close to campus. In some you can contract for a room and the management will fill the other three bedrooms (most are 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, shared living & kitchen) – essentially like going random in a university dorm.</p>
<p>And if you don’t won’t to lock yourself in, every semester people who decide to go abroad are looking for people to sublet, which would let you get a feel for different locations before committing to lease…</p>
