Transfer Housing

I've posted a thread on this a while back, but I was wondering if I could get some clarification on the housing situation from someone who isn't completely in the dark, as I am. So, my transfer orientation person emailed me about how there is a housing crunch, so all transfers are placed on a waiting list. She encouraged me to call ResLife and find out my place on the waiting list. So I called the lady there, and she was rather curt/terse with me, and said that as long as I didn't get my housing application returned to me, they anticipated being able to house me. I was quite frankly too scared to ask more questions, since she seemed like she was gonna yell at me if i asked anything else. Does this mean I'm not on a waitlist for on-campus housing (aka I'll find a space), or am I just in the general pool for housing (on and off campus)? Thanks a lot!

<p>The woman who usually answers the phones and sits at the ResLife reception desk is generally a b**** (and that's being nice to her). Not sure about your question specifically, but just wanted to let you know that most people in ResLife are not like that.</p>

<p>I wonder if the head person at Res Life should be notified about the person who greets incoming calls. I mean if I ran Res Life I would want to know about anyone on my staff in need of learning people skills.</p>

<p>Call Res Life back and ask to talk to the person in charge of housing. If that doesn't work, ask for the receptionist's name, and or the name of the head person of housing. BTW, Justin Carroll is the Dean Of Students and he is the "top" person at Residential Life. Ask to talk to him....then maybe the receptionist will treat you with some respect...I hope (?)
Also, before you call them go to the Washington University website, and plug in Residential Life. You can look up all the staff members on the Res Life site. Good Luck!</p>

<p>As an incoming transfer student last year, I found Rhonda Kiely and Rob Wild to be very helpful ResLife wise.</p>

<p>Rhonda's great - She's always taken care of any housing issues that I've had, and made sure that things worked out.</p>
