Transfer Housing

What options does a transfer with about 40 credits have as far as housing and meal plans?

Is it possible for a transfer to select a single room (and what are the chances)?

Also, is it true that in order to park on campus you need to pay a $600/yr fee?

As an upperclassman, you can decide if you want to live on or off campus. (Freshmen and sophomores MUST live on campus.)

On-campus housing for transfers are offered on a space available basis. You probably won’t hear anything until mid-June or later when Housing has a better idea of who’s coming back and who isn’t, and who will be doing a semester abroad.

(As for chances of getting a single–I’d say slim to none, unless you end up in one of the university owner apartment complexes that are a 10-20 minute walk from River Campus.)

Meal plans are required of ALL students, even commuters. Meal plan options depend upon your housing location.

Thanks for the info, looks as if I should invest in a bicycle if I come here. No clue where I am going to keep my car though : /

I’d take a 10 minute walk for a single… then again I have never experienced Rochester winters before.

When did you guys get your decision? I’m still waiting for mine!

Mine was dated April 29th
