transfer housing

Hey, I'm going to be (hopefully) a transfer at UMD College Park next fall for the 2011 semester. I had a few questions though...would I have a hard time making friends since I am coming a year late and missed the whole dorm experience? Also, if admitted, where would I stay/ where do sophomore students typically live, apartments or dorms? I know it depends on the college but if anybody from Maryland could help it'd be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

hey im from md and looking at transferring to cp next year as well. On campus housing is not guaranteed for transfer students. Therefore, you may have to find an off campus apartment, such as the towers or the view. There are so many people at UMD that you don’t need to worry about the bonding experience; you’ll make a whole bunch of friends

Also post your question on the UMD-CP subforum as there are likely students there who can give you more information about housing.
