I'm in a sorority and I'm looking to transfer into Clemson and I was wondering what their affiliation policy was. Am I automatically in? Do they vote? Please help!

I will ask about that.

Thank you!

I emailed someone about that question but I haven’t gotten a response yet.

Try asking the Fraternity & Sorority Life office: [Contact Us](http://www.clemsongreeklife.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=27&Itemid=40)

alright got an answer from someone on Panhellenic Council:

“Being on Panhellenic, I have dealt with most of the chapters on doing this. You can tell her to email or facebook message me if you’d like. Each chapter has a different policy but most involve usually voting to approve her membership.”

I can message you her contact info if you like!

I would also think the National would have a lot to say about this matter. If you’re a member at one chapter, you should be a member at any other school you transfer.

Perhaps the bigger question is how well will the transfer be accepted at the new school? I’m a greek alumni…we had a few members transfer-in, and some were roundly accepted and another wasn’t. It totally depends on how well the transfer member fits in with the rest of the members. You kind of force yourself on the new chapter…so IMO, the transfer has to “sell” themselves to the members…kind of like rush. Be outgoing, and make yourself useful to the chapter…volunteer…clean-up around the house…the little things mean a lot.
