transfer into engineer

Is it easy to switch into engineering?

You need to take a semester of courses in your major, get B’s or higher and fill out the paperwork. My son is Undecided and going into CS (Games) this way. He also is required to take a math class as part of the evaluation so he’s taking Linear Algebra next semester.

Is it garuenteed of you hold a 3.0 in all of these classes? Im looking to go into CS as well. what major did he apply to? Did he apply to this school always having the Intension to switch into engineering?

Sorry for all the questions @GamerGal27‌

He applied for IMGD as his number one choice and CS (Games) as number two, not knowing that Viterbi doesn’t look at # 2’s because they get 10,000 # 1’s. He was accepted as Undecided and realized immediately that CS (Games) was actually a much better fit for him (he’s my math/physics kid). I have been told it is a guarantee if he gets a 3.0 or higher in each CS course and the math class. It’s not a 3.0 average across all courses but, rather, a 3.0 in each.

Is he taking engineering classes at the moment? I hear you can take 4 before transfering officially

@GamerGal27‌

He is a Spring admit so he isn’t taking any courses at the moment. You are correct about the four courses. He has three CS courses, Linear algebra and one Interactive Entertainment class planned for the Spring. He’s thrilled with his schedule and his advisor was very helpful.
