Transfer into NYU Tisch for Tv and Film

Hi so I’m planning to apply for the fall semester at nyu for tv and film production. I’m currently a college freshman in my second semester. During my first semester I got a 4.0 and got 21 credits. This of course is my dream school and want more than anything to get into this school. I have some questions hopefully someone who is in the program or knows in depth of the admissions process of nyu.

  1. what can I do to make my application stand out?
  2. I did poorly on the sat’s in high school and received decent grades on ap exams however, my high school GPA was around a 3.7 I believe. My question is, will they weigh my college gpa more heavily in the academic aspect?
  3. tips on how to write the essays, I have written drafts of all of them but I would like to know what things I should keep in mind to include or eliminate in order to make them perfect or at least to the level where they will be impressed and thus be more Inclind to accept me.
  4. in regards to the video portion, the same that I asked for the essays, what elements and or factors should I include and others I should not include? Are they heavy on editing? Screenwriting?
  5. I have not done much in regards to film in terms of projects, I did a documentary for my high school that won, I worked at the tv station of my college for an entire semester, I worked at a rite aid, along with odd jobs, and clubs at school. Any advice on things I should do that I should put on my apps before I send them out?

A million thank yous to whoever chooses to help me with anyone this. I know it’s a lot but I don’t know where to turn for answers to these questions that burn in me. All I want is to get accepted into the school and am willing to take any feedback if it means it will better my chances.

Thanks again!!
