Transfer into University of Texas

hey guys, new here! Just had a few questions and perhaps some of you guys can help. I just graduated high school last year with a great gpa but low rank. in the 20 percentile. However, because of that I"ve been taking ACC classes (community college) for awhile now built up about 24 credits thus far. I currently do have 4.0 gpa. This semester I'm taking 3 more classes ; calculus, chemistry and philosphy. I'm gonna work my ass off to try to maintain all A's.

So the real question is, I want to transfer into UT this spring of 2014. I want to become an electrical engineer so that's the program I want to get into. HOWEVER, the engineering program doesn't allow me to apply for spring semester. I would have to wait till summer or fall and honestly I want to go ASAP. What should I do? Can I perhaps get in somehow and then change majors? Transfer from within? What GPA would I need to even get in?

Thanks a lot for any help you guys can give!

I also attend ACC, and I recommend that you take as many classes at ACC as you can. It will save you money, and in some areas your classes will be smaller than they would be at UT. I also believe that UT requires 30 credits to apply for transfer.
You can contact admissions at UT and talk with them, also email someone in advising at ACC- the counselors at Rio Grande are all super nice!
