Transfer life at UCSD

How is student life for transfer students at UCSD? I will be applying there this fall as Biochemistry major and it's one of my top choices but after hearing a lot of bad things about the social scene of regular students leads me to believe that it may be worse for transfer students. Anyone have an experience there or know someone that transfered and can comment on this?

i dunno about the bad experiences, but i think junior year is when people start to make major-specific friendships (since the first two years are for getting prereqs out of the way and you're in classes with hundreds of other people). i had a few transfer-student friends and it made no difference that they weren't around for the first two years.

(i'm referring to chem:biochem, it's a smaller and more intimate program than its biology counterpart)

I'm curious as well, do most transfer students live on campus or what?
To attempt to answer your question from my research, Revelle college is the most convenient out of the six for science majors due to their required GEs overlapping with required lower division courses. The opinions on Revelle are indeed low for the social scene, but people keep on saying that doesn't matter what college you're in you'll get to meet people from all of them.

Aside from Revelle I guess the social scene is pretty decent? I have no idea honestly, just been reading these forums. I'm in the same boat as you dude.
