Transfer majors and acceptances - any correlation?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone succeeded in transferring with rare majors.
Cuz I am majoring in Political Theory - (Ethics Politics and Ecomimics to be precise) and I applied to number of different school for poli sci, but there doesnt seem to be much successful transfers with Poli Sci majors... whaddaya think?

Well, I wouldn’t really know. A major in Political Theory is rare. I know it is a sub-division of my major, political science. But then Political Science Majors are not rare at all.

Is it a special program? Usually, it really depends on where you are applying to.

Engineering is usually more difficult at most places. But that is all I have heard of.

hahaha
@Georgetown 1 : ENG … dude I have no idea how much u have to work to get accepted as Engineers, and yea look at Cornell acceptance rate =P

@LSIGRAD09 :: yea… it’s a joint program that focuses more on the theory side of poli sci… and one of my concern is that for pol phil, or philosophy majors in general, there is a dominant school of thought each university follows, (e.g. Leo Strauss / Bloom …etc) and for junior transfers like me, I am thinking it might serve as a disadvantage for me - who is coming from the Chicago school of thought… Harvard pol phil profs are not too thrilled about Chicago school it seems =P
