Does Northeastern University and Boston University offer merit scholarships for transfer students?
Yes, I believe its the top 10% of applicants that get offered merits.
For transfer students???
The website says this:
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships (Transfer Students Only) Award: $5,000 grant. Recipients who maintain normal progress toward a degree, with a minimum grade-point average of 3.000, may renew the award.
Eligibility: Applicants for fall transfer admission who have earned a 3.500 grade-point average in 32 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours or units of college-level course work. For eligibility, you must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident enrolling directly from a two-year institution of higher education.>>
And usually PTK students are coming from a CC
Yeah they still offer the deans scholarships to transfer students, and the gpa stuff is just to be considered, even with a 3.5 gpa or above you could still not be in the top 10% so therefore wouldnt receieve any. Had a huge explanation from julie the director of transfer students.
@raulhumber2 so what do they focus more for transfers? I have only done one semester in college so would they focus more on high schools grades or college grades? I don’t have to send the SAT btw.
There is no tried and true answer to what they focus on the most. Some say college some say highschool, I think they look at both. But the SAT was required before so I don’t know what they would use instead. Standarized testing is the only way to really tell who the top 10% are that and gpa, as every school would be different if the gpa was the only thing used.
@raulhumber2 students who graduated HS outside the US do not send SAT scores at NEU.
