Transfer my senior year

I have one semester of college left with a 2.8 GPA due to mental health issues, distractions and lack of interest in my major. I’d like to go to grad school and pursue a different field (GRE score is 343). Would transferring help my GPA or should I take my chances as is.

Many colleges will not accept transfers after you’ve begun your junior year. Transfering will not wipe out a low GPA for grad school. The grad program will want to see all your undergrad grades.

A good GRE score is only part of what one needs for grad school. A good GPA is also important as are good recommendations from your professors.

Transferring with one semester left will not be seen as a positive thing, if you can even find a college that will accept you for one semester AND give you a degree from their institution. I believe most colleges require you to take a certain number of credits to fulfill their graduation criteria. Spend your energy doing your best to get good grades in your last semester. Get to know your professors too. Seek counseling. You want to be in a good place in your mind if you continue to grad school.
