Hi everyone! In a few days, I’m going to be starting my freshman year at the University of Pittsburgh…however, I’ve been researching Northeastern a lot lately and I feel like it would be a better fit for me. I’m going to see how my first year at Pitt goes but I think I really have my heart set on Northeastern now. I’m a Pharmacy major and Northeastern has such a cool co-op program and great facilities that I’d much rather be there (also I love Boston too). Does anyone have any info/experience about transferring (just in general) and any tips about transferring to Northeastern (specifically their pharmacy program??)? I’m a little paranoid right now just because I know Northeastern is a great school and I’m super worried that I won’t get in…Any help is much appreciated!!
I think that if your GPA is solid and you’re involved at UPitt, Northeastern could definitely be a match. The problem with them though is that the highest amount of merit aid they give barely makes a dent in their $60,000+ a year cost of attendance. While northeastern is great, they are just way too expensive. If you like the school, you go ahead and apply if you really think it’s the best fit. If you really like Boston, keep your mind open. There are numerous schools in Boston, with about 250,000 college students being concentrated in that area. It’s the best college town by far in the United States.
