Does anybody have any experience with the timetable for transfer admission notification? I’m trying to transfer to BC for the Spring Semester, but I also applied to Bentley as a backup. I found out today that I got into Bentley, but I have to submit an enrollment fee by November 24th. The BC website says that they notify you by December 15th, but that seems awfully late. To be honest, it’s a long shot that I 'll get into BC because of some of my college grades. I got into BC early action out of high school, so that will boost my chances somewhat. If I have to, I’ll just pay the Bentley deposit, and eat the money if I somehow get into BC. I was just wondering if anybody else has received earlier notification from BC in the past. Thanks!

I was a Spring Transfer, and they DID notify pretty late. The transfer admissions committee is absolutely wonderful, though, and pulled some miracles that allowed me to go there. When I told them that I needed my financial aid decision in order to put in a deposit, they had someone figure it out THAT DAY and called me back when most had to wait another week or so. So few transfers get in that there's a lot of personal attention.

I would say call Transfer Admissions and see if you can talk to Mary French (or anyone, really) about your situation with Bentley.

Hey i was wondering if you can put your stats up bceagle. When do you think theyll notify me by??

My college GPA is the weakest part of my application, but I did take a tough schedule. It was dragged down by a horrific first semester, and I think I did a good job in my essay of explaining why.

College GPA: 3.2 at Boston U
High school GPA (weighted): 4.1
Class Rank: 6/180
SAT: 2150

I think I had a good essay and a very good recommendation, so I'm hoping for the best. I know the average GPA for admitted transfers is somewhere around a 3.6, but I hope the rest of my application makes up for it.

From the research I've done, telmplestar, I wouldn't expect to hear anything before mid December.
