Just come to say hi. I got my acceptance letter on May 27. I come from China. Thrilled~

Waiting to hear for Spring 2011 transfer…

3.48 GPA A’s in all major classes (Political Science)
Native to California

has anyone heard from spring admission yet?

Nope, but I just sent in my application like a week ago. When did you send yours?

I haven’t sent it in yet, It should be out next week though.

I applied as a transfer for the spring as well. I received a letter in the mail a few weeks ago saying that I will be notified late November/early December. But, I read online that the school sends you a notification 2 weeks after receiving all application documents. Hmmm? Anyone know when we will hear? I applied in September to the Lincoln Center campus.

Thanks.

From what I gather we should hear after november first on a rolling basis.

Yeah, I called them just to clarify. The transfer advisor looked at my application and she said I should hear the first week of November. I’m assuming that’s because I live 40 min from the city.

I called fordham today and they didn’t seem to know about when spring 2011 transfer decisions were going to start going out…they told me they would start notifying people the beginning of december…hopefully they’ll go out earlier though. does anyone know if we are notified via email or regular mail?

I think regular mail. I’ve heard people receiving notifications in the beginning of November and mid-December. I think it depends on how many applicants there are.

Received notification from Fordham today via email… Lincoln Center here I come:)

did anyone receive a confirmation from Fordham saying that they have your application or anything like that? bc i havent heard from them at all so i was just wondering if that was the case for everyone

DS had an email about 11/10 saying they had everything. They included a link to a page and an id number so he could check the status, which just said that his application was complete.

@Jltmag- I received a confirmation about three weeks after my app was sent. When did you send in your app?

Getting anxious now… Kara stone acknowledged my application was received the last week in October yet I haven’t heard from the school at all since.

Well I’m transferring out, so there’s at least one spot for all of you!
Good luck to everyone, I think most schools tend to say the decision will be out around December 15. The deadline to vacate housing was Nov. 19th so they probably know how much space they have already… It can’t be too long now!

I decided to transfer from Hofstra University and applied to Fordham yesterday for Spring semester using the common app. I am a first semester transfer. I heard that Fordham is looking for a 3.0 college GPA. I was wondering I took the SAT year ago and I was told by many that the SAT is out dated information because am already half way through my first college semester and that Fordham prefers college grades than SAT on transfers. I sure hope that’s the case because I came from a economically disadvantaged location in NY and I did horrible on the SAT twice. I am not able to afford Hofstra any longer pass my freshman year. My family lives near Fordham University in the Bronx which means I can commute and just could afford paying tuition without room & board. Since I did horrible on the SAT if I get a 3.0 or above on my first semester at Hofstra do you think Fordham would see pass the SAT.

I don’t know the transfer procedure at Fordham but in general I think colleges want your SAT and HS transcript unless you have finished 2 years at college. I’d call Fordham admissions and find out.
