2.6 GPA, over did courses.
Only been there one semester, applying for fall of 2011.
GPA should go way up this semester. (Should have 36 credits total)

Odds of getting in for the April 15th deadline. Should I pay the fee or no?

It’s going to be tough with a 2.6, you wanna try to get it above a 3.0 a the very least. Are you in-state?

yes, in-state.

If you could get it above 3.0 with 30+ credits, I would say that you have a chance being in-state. What school/major are you applying to and what campus? The priority deadline for transfers was Feb 1st I believe, so you will want to apply asap if you are going to.

I am applying Business SAS. It was Feb. but they still are accepting. Kind of unfortunate that one C+ lowers your entire GPA for your first semester at college. I only have 17 credits ATM and 2.6 so I probably won’t right?

Honestly, I don’t think so, at least not to the business school. You might want to try to transfer into a less demanding school, then transfer from within the University. Hope this helps you out, and best of luck.

I meant business major, but applying to School of Arts & Sciences

I seriously doubt it… honestly.
Also there is no business major at SAS. It’s a pre-business curriculum and you transfer into the Business school.
You might want to try Newark or Camden if you really want to be at Rutgers.

Even with that, you unfortunately won’t make it into the business program at Camden or Newark with that GPA. You need at least a 3.0

I spoke with an advisor there.

probably your best bet at this point is to finish an associates and then transfer the entire package - i htink schools tend to be a little more lenient with gpa if your coming with 2 solid years, it shows your commitment.

Well I have only been at my current college for a semester. I am still a freshman and was wondering if I should do my pre-business curriculum at Rutgers. However, I guess it is better if I wait and see if my GPA gets bumped up this semester huh?

@transferRUT

I would wait definitely as you won’t get into the Business program anyway. So just do the two years of CC, then plan on transferring…also, make sure all of your credits transfer to RU…that is crucial.
