<p>What’s recommended for an undergrad transfer student and what’s not? Any info on public transportation, meal plans for off campus students (or alternative tips), etc? General tips.</p>
<p>Also, I’m going to be continuing the AFROTC program at BU which will probably have me waking up really early, possibly before any public transportation systems are running, so anything as close as possible to Bay State Road would be great. </p>
<p>I’m also a guy looking for a roommate if there are any takers (I’m pretty much cool with anyone).</p>
<p>you won’t find by much by bay state road for cheap…it’s likely to run pretty steep. most off campus bu people either live in brookline or allston. you can live in south campus area for not too much if you look around…that’s a bit closer to bay state. </p>
<p>as far as meal plans, you’re welcome to get any of them. a lot of off campus folks i knew got an apartment meal plan…it’s got less than a standard meal plan, but it’s nice if you’ll be on campus a lot. it’s also good because if you’re a transfer, the dining hall is a great place to meet people.</p>
<p>Yeah, I was told that I wasn’t going to be offered any on campus housing. </p>
<p>And I guess I’ll probably just walk, Mapquest says roughly 2 miles from every complex I’ve found, so I guess that isn’t too bad. The dining plan thing sounds good too, though at my old school, people were often secluded there if they weren’t going in with anyone. Hopefully the vibe is a bit different.</p>
