Okay, so my first two years out of HS I moved down to California and went to a community college, long story short I got very distracted during my time there and came away with practically nothing. 3 credits, many failed and dropped classes, and bad memories. I’ve now finished two years of community college back in my home state of Oregon and want to transfer to a university. So my question is should I just include my time at the second Community college when I apply so they don’t see my wasted time and F’s at my first community college? Because If I don’t include my time from my first I have a 3.3 but if I do then my GPA is around a 1.9-2.2 :/… Any help is welcomed!!
I believe you have to provide ALL your past transcripts. Sorry you do not get to pick and chose.
You are obligated to provide all of your transcripts. Period.
In fact, if you are going to get an Associates Degree from your current CC, you are obligated to make certain that they have received your first CC’s transcript. It needs to be on file there. This has nothing to do with you as a student. It has to do with the colleges and universities playing nice with each other.
Go meet with the Transfer Advisor at your current CC. That person has helped people with histories even uglier than yours, and will know the correct steps for gaining admission at the universities you are interested in. For example, if there is a formal articulation agreement for your major, completing those courses with the required GPA for the courses is almost certain to guarantee admission even with some very old, very bad grades from CC #1.
You’re going to have to include all of them.
